Role Description: This is a part time role (3 days/week 8 hour shifts) for a Bread & Pastry Baker at The Bread Pedalers in West Allis, WI. The Bread Baker is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of artisan bread, pastries, laminated doughs, and other baked goods such as cookies & scones between the hours of 3:30am-11:30am. They will also assist in developing new recipes, maintaining a clean baking area, and ensuring quality control standards are met. The Bread Baker will report to the kitchen manager. This position allows for the applicant to engage in the creative process working in tandem with the kitchen manager and other bread baker to come up with monthly bread menu specials, weekly rotating pastries, & seasonal pastry items.
Qualifications:
Experience in commercial or artisanal baking
Knowledge of different types of dough types, fermentation processes, and baking techniques
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and follow recipes accurately
Attention to detail and a passion for baking high-quality products
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
Certification in baking or relevant field is a plus
WI Serv Safe certification is required to be obtained if not already applicable within first month of employment (company reimbursement available)
